Thanks to the efforts of many people in many places, the 16th annual Little Traverse CROP hunger walk raised $20,000.

Donations came from area individuals, church groups, businesses and Bay View Association. All donations go directly to Church World Service programs to address people in distress throughout the world.

A total of $5,000 stays in Northern Michigan benefitting Manna Food Project as they meet the nutrition needs of children and adults in this area.

Taking place on June 27, this year’s virtual walk took place over a variety of days and in all sorts of locations. The Bay View community members have been strong supporters of CROP walk for 16 years.

 
This year, Team Bay View made a great showing and raised a total of $13,356.65.

CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local congregations or groups to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world. The donations raised help from putting seeds into otherwise empty gardens or tools into the hands of hardworking farmers.
