Bay View draws seasonal residents and day visitors from all over the United States to its annual Assembly Program and associated Music Festival. The Music Festival is nationally renowned and currently recognized as the longest reigning music festival in the United States. Festival students represent most of the 50 states and a number of foreign countries.

If You Are Selling Your Cottage…

The Bay View Association Board of Trustees approved on January 29, 2005, the requirement that “Any leaseholder intending to sell a leasehold or any portion thereof shall notify the Business Office in writing of the intent to sell the leasehold within five (5) days of the earlier of the date a listing agreement is signed with a licensed Bay View real estate agent, an agreement for sale of the leasehold is signed, or the leaseholder declares an intention to sell the leasehold and begins marketing it for sale.”

“Upon receipt of a Notice of intent to sell and/or sales agreement, the Business Office shall send written notice to contiguous leaseholders at least thirty (30) days before closing.”

Cottage Sale Checklist

Bay View Association requires that the seller provide certain documents prior to the sale of a cottage

  • Intent to Sell Form

  • Your Content Goes Here
  • Electrical safety inspection ordered by the seller, per By-Law 34c

  • Current survey ordered by the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds from the approved Bay View surveyor or certification to within two years of the sales agreement provided no structural modifications or boundary agreements have been made since the date of the survey on file.

  • The Superintendent provides the surveyor with all written boundary agreements applicable to the leasehold before the survey is done.
