A step-by-step guide to painting with acrylics. Come and join the instructor for a fun afternoon at Bay View to create a beautiful painting. In this class you will be supplied with a 16” x 20” canvas, your paints and paintbrushes. You will be guided step by step through the entire session to create your own acrylic painting. Students will learn some basic techniques, learn about color mixing, and how to execute an acrylic painting.

Sharon Smithem is a multi-talented artist. Smithem creates commissioned fine art paintings for individual homes and businesses. She also works in different mediums: mural painting, glass mosaics, mixed media, sculpture and tile making. Sharon has taught at the Community of Education at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI and several arts centers throughout Western Michigan.
