REGISTRATION

Bay View Youth Theater is back in 2026 with WILLY WONKA KIDS! Registration day will be June 22, which will include a parent meeting and a Getting-to-Know-You rehearsal. The non-member registration fee is $160 and the member fee is $135. We accept cash, check, or credit card via online registration. The registration fee must be paid before the participant can attend rehearsal. All children ages 7-14 (Bunnies/Antelopes through Squirrels/Bears at club) are welcome to join our cast. The last day to register is July 6. All cast members must be in attendance and all registration fees must be paid by July 6.

AUDITIONS PREPARATION

All cast member will learn the song, “Golden Age of Chocolate” during rehearsal on Registration Day, which will then be sung on Audition Day. If the auditionee would like a specific role, please prepare one minute of that character’s song from the show as well. If they would just like to be in the ensemble, they will be asked to tell a joke and sing Happy Birthday.

Here are the three things I am looking for:

  1. The ability to speak loudly and clearly
  2. An understanding of the character’s part in the story
  3. Expression of emotion in the body and in the voice. Show me the character and what they are thinking and feeling!

We will accept video auditions for those unable to attend on audition day starting June 10. All videos and registration forms must be submitted before June 25 at 3:00pm. Please upload the audition as a private YouTube link emailed to youththeater@bayviewassociation.org. The cast list will be posted Thursday, June 25 at Voorhies Hall. To be considered for a larger speaking role, participants who submitted a video audition must attend rehearsal by June 29. Ensemble roles do not have to submit video auditions, and must register and be in attendance by July 7.

COSTUMES

We do our best to pull our cast’s costumes from our costume shop, but our stock of child-sized clothes is limited. As you are planning your packing for your stay in Bay View, please be sure to bring brown/black trousers, black/brown dress shoes or boots, and a button-down shirt. If you come across jazzy accessories, animal ears, child-sized vests, or suspenders, please consider bringing one for your child or donating to the Bay View Youth Theater.

CREW

From set and costume design to stage management and board operation, all middle and high school students are eligible to build leadership and theater craft skills by joining our production teams. These schedules differ based on position and offer a variety of flexibility for those with a busy summer ahead. These positions do qualify for community service hours. Please come to Registration Day to sign up for a crew!

If you have any questions, please email the directors at youththeater@bayviewassociation.org.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

During registration, please note any rehearsals that you know your cast member will miss or will arrive late. We are aware that Bay View offers many exciting and valuable extra curricular activities throughout the season both before, during, and after our scheduled rehearsal times. Thank you so much for choosing to invest your time and resources in the Youth Theater! Participation in the Youth Theater requires consistent, timely attendance in order for each person to succeed. In the case that an unexpected conflict arises, please contact Noah Suarez at least 24 hours in advance of the next rehearsal. Due to our short rehearsal schedule, the schedule for rehearsals is planned ahead of time based on who we expect will be in attendance. All participants must attend every rehearsal and performance the last week of July, no exception.
