Bay View 360: String Thing with Libor Ondras and Philip Alejo
This Music Series Session will dive into Strings and how the magic occurs with Bay View faculty artists Libor Ondras (Violin & Viola) and Philip Alego, (Bass).
Libor Ondras began his viola studies as a fellow at Moscow State Conservatory with Yuri Bashmet. He completed his M.M. and D.M.A. degrees at the University of Houston. Ondras is the Music Director of Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, Kent Philharmonic Orchestra, guest conductor for Slovak State Opera, and Director of Orchestras at GRCC. He has performed with major orchestras in the U.S., for the American Viola Society, and the International Viola D’Amore Society.
Philip Alejo is currently on the faculty at University of Arizona and was visiting faculty at the University of Michigan. He has performed with the Phoenix Symphony, Tucson Symphony, Arizona Opera, Chicago Civic Orchestra, Quad City Symphony, Ensemble Dal Niente, Fling Symphony, and Ann Arbor Symphony. He earned his degrees from Oberlin College (BA, BM), Yale University (MM), and the University of Michigan (DMA).
