The Coordinator of Bay View Youth Ministry this summer will be  Bay View member Marcia-Anne Beard Dunbar, ably assisted by her husband, the Rev. Earl Dunbar. Earl is a minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church. Marcia-Anne is delighted to find another way to use her religion/psychology degree as well as her teaching certificate. Earl is glad to have another opportunity to use his Christian Education major from seminary. Marcia-Anne and Earl currently live in New Hampshire, where Marcia-Anne homeschools their two sons, Jonathan and James. In the summer, they enjoy living in Bay View with her parents, Jim and Bernice Beard. She is very pleased to be given the opportunity to coordinate youth ministries at Bay View. An expansion program is under way for the Bay View Youth Ministry this summer. Youth Ministry will include Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. for many more ages, and a mid-week youth program for younger youth still in Club or middle school/junior high/early high school age, as well as a different group for the older youth  - leader age - or high school/college age. We are excited to offer Sunday School for children and youth who have grown out of Elizabeth Nelson's wonderful Sunday School program or want to start Sunday School for the first time. Upper elementary children will learn lessons about "You are Special and You Can Make a Difference!" Please look for this class upstairs at Hitchcock Hall. Junior high/middle school class will learn lessons based on the theme, "You are Worthwhile and You Can Make a Difference." God has given you special gifts and talents that you are uniquely qualified to use for him. You can make a difference for yourself, your friends at Bay View and back home, and in your community.  Come join us at Loud Hall for this class! High school/college/leader age students will meet at Loud Hall for a class with the theme of "Lead with Christ."  Find out how Jesus led and what is Christ-like leadership! We also have mid-week plans for our youth! Those in middle school/beginning high school will meet as usual at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays at Swift Field for a time of fun, spiritually growing activities. We will also have a youth group for high school/college age students. Watch for signs about time and location! Mid-week Bible studies will also be offered with the theme of "Topical Honest Christianity." Since our overall theme is you can make a difference and leading with Christ, we will be planning several faith in action service projects for all ages. Please stay tuned for details.
