The Rev. Daniel T. Moser is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa. He holds graduate degrees from The Divinity School of The University of Chicago and Princeton Theological Seminary. An ordained minister in the UCC, the Rev. Moser has been involved in outdoor and retreat ministries throughout his 37 years as a pastor in Pennsylvania. He is co-founder of Sabbath Time Ministries, providing Sabbath rest and renewal for pastors and congregations. He and his wife, Margaret,
an elementary school teacher, have a daughter, a son and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Anne Rosebrock, June 17-21

The Rev. Anne Rosebrock received a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. She was ordained an Elder in The United Methodist Church in the California-Pacific Annual Conference and served in southern California, Kansas and Indiana. In Kansas she served on the Conference staff of Bishop Fritz Mutti and was appointed the first female senior pastor in the Kansas West Conference.

The Rev. Dr. Charles Yoost, June 24-28

Charles D. Yoost is senior pastor of Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. With nearly 1,400 members and a radio ministry, the church completed a $6.3 million addition in 2006.
A graduate of the University of Akron, he received Master and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Boston University School of Theology. The Rev. Dr. Yoost is a trustee of Ohio Northern University. He has served as a United Methodist District Superintendent, a General and World Methodist Conference delegate, and written widely.
He and his wife, Barbara, have two sons and two grandchildren.
Dr. Akhil Reed Amar, July 2-6

Akhil Reed Amar is Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale. After graduating from Yale College and Yale Law School (where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal), he clerked on the First Circuit for Judge Stephen Breyer, then joined the Yale faculty in 1985. In 1994 he received the Paul Bator award from the Federalist Society; in 1998 his work on the Bill of Rights earned the ABA Certificate of Merit and Yale University Press Governors Award.
His most recent book earned the ABA Silver Gavel Award of 2006. In 2008 he received the DeVane Medal – Yale’s highest award for teaching. He has delivered endowed lectures at over 40 colleges and universities and writes widely on constitutional issues. He lectured previously at Bay View in 2007.
The Rev. Dr. Michael Brown, July 8-12
The Rev. Dr. Michael B. Brown is Senior Minister of Marble Collegiate Church in New York City. A native of Asheboro, N.C., Dr. Brown graduated from High Point University, Duke University Divinity School and received his Doctorate of Ministry in Preaching from Drew Theological Seminary. He did clinical pastoral education internships at John Umstead Hospital and Murdoch Hospital, both in Butner, N.C. In addition to pastoral duties, he has taught Ethics in the College for Seniors at The University of North Carolina-Asheville, New Testament at High Point University, and Congregational Change at Wake Forest University Divinity School. He is married to the former Page Plummer. The Browns have four children: Adam, Alison, Zachary and Katharine. The
Rev. Dr. Brown preached and lectured at Bay View during the 2010 Assembly Season.
The Rev. Fred Shaw, July 15-19

Fred A. Shaw (Neeake) is a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Ohio University and a graduate of the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio. He is a lifelong explorer of knowledge and the spiritual journey. He is a noted expert in storytelling for his Shawnee culture, 18th and 19th century U.S. history, American Indian spiritualities, first-person historical interpretation, wildlife conservation and photography.
The Rev. Shaw retired as a United Methodist pastor after serving churches since 1969. Currently he co-chairs a 10-state group of American Indian leaders who work with spiritual and physical needs of American Indian people. He and Nancy Eppley married in 1970 and have a son, daughter, granddaughter and three grandsons.
The Rev. Dr. Trevor Hart, July 22-26

Trevor Hart is Professor of Divinity and Director of the Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts in the University of St. Andrews. The material for his lectures at Bay View is closely related to a book he is currently writing on divine and human creativity. He is an ordained priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church and enjoys the opportunity for ministry in a local parish alongside his full-time role as a university teacher.
He is married to Rachel, and they have three children (two grown, and one rapidly growing). When time permits, Trevor enjoys watching Scotland play rugby, hillwalking, and learning to play the violin again.
The Rev. Dr. Barbara Essex, July 29-August 2

The Rev. Dr. Barbara J. Essex is an ordained minister with the UnitedChurch of Christ. The best-selling author received a Pilgrim Press Mayflower Award for “Spirituality for Bad Boys of the Bible: Exploring Men of Questionable Virtue.” Her titles include “Bad Girls of the Bible”; “Krazy Kinfolk: Exploring Dysfunctional Families in the Bible”; “Misbehavin’ Monarchs”; “More Bad Girls of the Bible”; and her latest, “Bold and Brazen: Exploring Hebrew Prophets.” Before entering the ministry, the Rev.
Essex was a teacher for the Chicago Public School System. She has earned degrees from Northwestern University and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, both in Evanston, Ill.
The Rev. Dr. James A. Harnish, August 5-9

James A. Harnish is Senior Pastor of Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Tampa, Fla. He has written numerous books and Bible studies including “A Disciple’s Path” and “Strength for the Broken Places.” He has been a delegate to the World Methodist Conference and General Conference and chaired the Host Committee for the 2012 General Conference.
He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary and serves on the Board of Visitors at Duke Divinity School. He and his wife, Marsha, have two daughters and three grandchildren. His brother, John, Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Mich., was a preacher/lecturer at Bay View in 2009.
The Rev. Dr. Sarah Lancaster, August 12-16

Sarah Lancaster is Professor of Theology at Methodist Theological School in Ohio and an ordained elder in the North Texas Annual
Conference of the United Methodist Church. Her Ph.D. is from Southern Methodist University. She is the author of “Women and
the Authority of Scripture: A Narrative Approach,” Trinity Press International, 2002, and “Pursuit of Happiness: Blessing and Fulfillment in Christian Faith,” Wipf & Stock, 2011, in addition to many articles and essays.
She works for ecumenism on behalf of The United Methodist Church on the World Council of Churches Commission on Faith and Order and the World Methodist Council.
The Rev. Toby Jones, August 19-23

Toby Jones is a graduate of DePauw University and Princeton Theological Seminary. An ordained Presbyterian minister and two- term Moderator of the Presbytery of Mackinaw, Jones oversaw 42 churches in the northern third of Michigan. In 2009 he left the Presbyterian Church to found Living Vision, an alternative spiritual community in Petoskey.
Jones has founded a homeless shelter ministry, taught English at prep schools and colleges, written for national magazines, and currently writes news and features for CMU Public Radio. He is a renowned retreat leader, speaker, and the author of two books, “The Gospel According to Rock” (2007) and “The Way of Jesus” (2010).
The Rev. Sherry McGuffin, August 26-30

The Rev. Sherry McGuffin has been pastor at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Petoskey for 14 years. She graduated from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in 1998. McGuffin volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and is a member and past president of Zonta Club in Petoskey. She also volunteers at local pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and with chaplaincy.
In 2011 she received the Athena Award, one of the highest-profile accolades in Petoskey, given annually to an individual who demonstrates excellence in her profession and works to improve life for others. McGuffin serves on the Advisory Board for the Poverty Reduction Initiative and teaches French at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey. She loves her dogs, reading, hiking, snowshoeing and serving.
The Rev. George Dauler, September 2

The Rev. George Dauler and his wife, Susanne, first came to Bay View Windows on the Biblical World Sunday School Class 50 years ago to honeymoon in the cottage which had just been purchased by his parents, Carl and Janet Dauler. Their two children, Sam and Gretchen, as well as their six grandchildren, all treasure this place. George is an ordained Presbyterian pastor and social worker.
Many have seen George in one of his alter-egos: Ulysses S. Grant, Andrew Carnegie, and Jonah the Prophet, which he has performed all over the country. In retirement, George and Susanne both serve as volunteers at the City Mission in
Cleveland, Ohio.
