Stay in Historic Bay View

While You're Visiting Us, Stay a While!

Bay View has 2 historic inns within walking distance to the main campus and event venues.

The Terrace Inn
The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant has been offering lodging and dining to visitors from around the world since June, 1911.  Built by William and Josephine DeVol on a bluff overlooking Fair View Park, the Hotel was modern for its time. Designed with "ventilation for enjoying breezes from the bay, early ads touted "indoor plumbing, electric lights, and cafe in connection with "hot food served hot and cold food served cold"!. Today's guests appreciate the character and charm of the original "House Hospitable" and added amenities of Cable TV, WiFi, air conditioning and private baths. The location is walking distance to Bay View's performing arts venue at John Hall Auditorium, Little Traverse Beach, miles of scenic wooded trails and a mile from downtown Petoskey. The Inn's 38 rooms range from "cottage style rooms" with 1 queen or 2 twin beds to "Queen or King Suites with jetted tubs and kitchenettes". Hot breakfast and daily maid service are included in your stay. Lodging is available year round (with the exception Christmas, March and April) while restaurant hours are seasonal.  Dinner is served nightly from 5-9 p.m. June through Labor Day once Vespers Concerts begin and on weekends September through February. Old-fashioned sleigh rides are held Saturday evenings in January and February, weather permitting, and dinner and sleigh packages are popular with locals as well as lodging guests. 10% discount is available to Bay View residents, frequent guests and groups.

Mo and Patty have operated the Inn since May 2004 and achieved Michigan Historic Designation in 2009. Preserving the peaceful, home like atmosphere, old-fashioned charm, great food and friendly service is our mission. A recent guest reviewed  "Absolutely loved it! Cozy, friendly, just like home. Can't wait to go back" and "A wonderful victorian Inn, in a lovely setting in Bay View.. Great food, comfy rooms, pleasant lounge and a very caring staff." Rooms that are unoccupied are open for browsing and visitors are always welcome for a tour. For more information visit our website at and Facebook for upcoming events and specials.
